i just bought a widescreen samsung 940MW monitor, and it only has two resolutions,
    1024 by 768, and 800 by 600. On the web site http://www.samsung.com/Products/Monitor/LCD_Multi_Function/LS19DOWSSXAA.asp?page=Specifications
it says that that the native resolution is 1440 by 900 which would work.
i was wondering if there is anyway i can change the resolution. i got the last one that was on display, and all they gave me was the monitor and the 2 cords i need. i think there might be software to change it,but i don't know. please help.

    bgolf109,
Try reinstalling your display drivers (either of your motherboard, or your graphic card, if you have one)

3 days before i got this monitor i had a emachines 19inch widescreen that DID have 1440x900 resolution and looked and worked perfect. (i got the samsung so i could use my xbox on it). so i don't think it's the graphics card, and i've tried reinstalling the driver numerous times, and it still doesn't work. ive been looking for answers all over the web and i can't find anything.

this is what i have. i'm trying to install the new driver, but when i starts to install i get a message that says "the driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from your computer's manufacturer". I know that it's the right driver because i ran the chip identifacation program and it said that i have the 945 express. i know that my graphics card can run at 1440x900, it did on another monitor that i had. i don't understand why it can't on this one.
