im curious, i want to put a screensaver of an aquarium or something on my tv. Is there some way to do this without physically attaching a laptop to it?

Do you mean just a laptop or no computer/device attached at all. If you meant the latter then quite frankly I can't see how you would display the sceensaver via the tv. Btw what kind of tv is it. Does it have a s-video connection. I am not aware of any station which broadcasts what you desire so I doubt that that's a likely option via cable, dss, etc. My only other thought is to capture the screensaver with say Cature wiz Pro from http://www.pixelmetrics.com/ and the burn it as a VCD or DVD and play it in a DVD player attached to the tv. The same principle applies to a VHS tape and a VHS player if the screensaver was put on a VHS tape. I know that I should be ostracized for the last comment but I'm scraping the bottom of the barrell. Otherwise I'm stumped.
