Hiya, PRINTSCREEN on its own takes a snapshot of EVERYTHING on your screen, just as it looks. ALT-PRINTSCREEN takes a snapshot of the CURRENTLY SELECTED WINDOW. Snapshots are in the Windows Clipboard.... Open your graphics program of choice. Paste. There you go... Have Fun....
OK, Look on your computer keyboard, about 3/4 to the right, near the top... You will find a key with something like "Print Screen" or "PrtScr" on it... That is the PRINTSCREEN key, OK!!!! Your keyboard isn't really that big, you should be able to find the key with a few minutes intensive searching... Good Luck in your quest
The methods drchips listed work fine for regular windows screens and desktops. If you want to get DirectX or OpenGL screens you have to use another program. The Print Screen key just copies something written on the windows GDI (Graphic Device Interface). DirectX programs bypass the GDI and write directly to a DirectX surface which the Print Screen key won't capture since it is at a lower hardware level. http://graphicssoft.about.com/cs/screencapturepc/ That site lists some screen capture programs. Hypersnap DX and Snagit will both capture DirectX program screens, but they aren't freeware.
MW Snap is a freeware that will take (capture) any part of your screen -- and make a jpeg for you. It will work for capturing live web sites while surfing the net. It is available here: http://www.mirekw.com/winfreeware/mwsnap.html _X_X_X_X_X_[small]Do It Right , and you will be a Happy Camper ! Take Care.[/small]
I advice the printscreen button. I always used it that way and it's pretty simple. The Mw Snap may help you as well. (.jpg) Hoped this helped...
