DVD burning was working great on both SONY and Lite-On DVD-RW drives until I upgraded from nero 7 to 8. To try to fix, I've uninstalled nero 8, Reboot, used nero cleantool, Reboot, installed nero 7. Looking at the log file, my son suggested I re-installed the aspi drivers, which I did. Reboot. Now my whole system won't recognize the Lite-On and I get the following error logfile on the SOny drive. Hello. Have you tried using Device Manager to uninstall your DVD drives and then letting Windows autoinstall the drives upon restart? Have you tried going back to an earlier OS restore point? Also try creating an ISO image file of your disk with Nero's Image Recorder as the output target device. Use ImgBurn (free) to burn the created image file. http://www.imgburn.com The newest Nero 7 version is 7.10.1.2 available here: http://www.nero.com/enu/downloads-nero7-update.php As always run the Nero 7 Clean Tool before reinstalling. I don't see any evidence of ASPI. WinXP really doesn't need it, but something is definitely out of sorts here. Disc Manufacturer: CMC MA - G. AM3 CMC Mag maufactured media wouldn't be my first choice. It's pretty bad quality stuff. Verbatim is easy to find and woul;d be a better choice in my opinion. That's a pretty low burn speed. Did you select this speed? If not, another potential indicaor of a problem. Here's how to proceed. Set the output device to the Image Recorder in Nero Recode and see if Recode successfully outputs the project to the image file. If that is successful, then try to burn the created image file with ImgBurn. If that's successful, the problem is likely Nero-related. If ImgBurn can't burn successfully there's a problem with the burner or with something in the OS to root out and deal with.
