    Hello all,

I'm looking for an SD card for my mother inlaw's digital camera. I dont know which brand is best and was hoping to get some feedback. I was told by a friend that most of the memory chips are built by Samsung and it doesnt really matter which brand name I get... this is correct?

    Thanks in advance!

edit: I search the digital photography section of the forum and did not find a simular thread. I apologize if I missed it.

I have always used 'SanDisk' SD cards,
I just bought a new 128mb the other day,
24.99 @ my best buy locally.
(New SD card holds 81 pictures on my 4 meg digital HP camera).
They had some generic ones for about 5 bucks cheaper,
But for my money Sandisk is the best.

    Good luck :)

Thanks Jizmak! I also had one more question. What about the speed of the card? I see "60x" and "10Mb/s read speed" do these refer to the same thing?

    Thanks again

hi caucano, these do refer to the same thing. 1x=150kb/s so 60x=9mb/s
    or 10mb/s~66x
