Recently I was browsing the web normally, on a perfectly normal website (bbc news) when I got a Security Error message out of the blue. this is what it said:

    "Security Error: Domain name mismatch
You have attempted to establish a connection with
    "www.philanthropy.com". However, the security
    certificate presented belongs to "philanthropy.com".
It is possible, though unlikely, that someone may be
trying to intercept your communication with this
    website.

If you suspect the certificate shown does not belong
to "www.philanthropy.com", please cancel the connection
    and notify the site administrator."

Now, this message alarmed me quite a bit because I did NOT try to establish a connection with this website... I immediately closed my browser (firefox), put myself behind a proxy, and searched for updates for PG2. The message came up AGAIN (exactly the same) while I had no browser open. The web page I was on when the alert first came up had no links to "www.philanthropy.com", and philanthropy.com itself seemed to be a perfectly normal website.

If anyone knows what this message means (has the security of my connection been compromised?) could they please offer me a little light on the matter? I don't need to worry, do I?

Thanks in advance to anyone who replies.
