Here are the screenshots below; Does anyone know why this is happening and how to make the installation work?
If you have any other versions of Office installed before hand uninstall it and try again. You may need to do an registry clean too.
Thanks for the reply borhan9, I re-installed windows XP after upgrading my PC. So I tried installing Microsoft Office 2007- without any luck due to the unsual protected system file problem which I don't understand. I installed Microsoft Office 2003 Professional and it completed successfully. So I don't know why it doesn't install The 2007 version of office. -Simon
Maybe the 07 version has a glitch in the setup installation process try get your hands on another copy and see if the other copies or not. If it does not have a bug then it has problems with the installation CD if its otherwise its a system glitch.
Hey there, the problem still presists. Even with a different copy of Microsoft Office 2007. I don't understand which "Protected Windows Files", the installer cannot update?
Try to do either a registry cleaner or try a system restore and see if that fixes the problem. It really seems you have a system issue that is causing the problem. Other than those ideas all else that comes to mind is to format and start again. Ohh just remembered try a repair install of windows before the format. Edit Just wanted to add it was saying its a service issue you may need to go to your manage under my computer and go to the services and see which service could be causing the conflict.
This thread caught my eye as we were able to get Office 2007 Enterprise through MS HUP. I did a google search for you, this seems to be a common problem......Try this solution: http://blogs.developerfusion.co.uk/blogs/thushan/archive/2006/11/25/1493.aspx Good Luck
