Well, I will need a little more information than what you have given. What OS are you running? What type of processor do you have? What is your processor speed? How much memory do you have installed? How many startup programs do you have? Have you installed Ad-Aware? I have found that to be one of the best programs for cleaning you system. You may get it at lavasoft.com. What Anti-virus program are you running? 1) Make sure you have Ad-Aware and your anti-virus up to date. 2) Boot your computer into safe mode. This will stop any startup programs from starting. 3) Run Ad-Aware in full system mode. Remove all it discovers. 4) Run your anti-virus and hope that nothing is discovered. 5) Run Disk clean up found in Start -> Accessories -> System Tools. 6) Run Disk Defragmenter found in the same place. 7) Reboot your system and remove any programs you don't need or that have been downloaded from the internet. 8) In your browser select tools -> Internet Options then delete your cookies and temporary internet files. After following these instructions your computer should be running at optimal performance. If you have start up programs that are slowing the system down then you need to instruct them not to turn on until you tell them to. I would not do this with your anti-virus, just the ones that you don't need running. All of your start up programs are not needed, many companies put items into the start up group so that they may detect if there are newer versions available. Hope the steps I gave you helped. If not then give me a little more information on your computer and I will help you troubleshoot the program. Just as a side note be careful about which programs you run. Many are known to cause more difficulties than they resolve. [bold]Should I charge for helpful information like this?[/bold]
