Hi can anyone shed some light on how to solve this little problem? Whilst trying to convert AVI's to DVD format (Cucusoft), I get green banding on both top and bottom of screen and poor video quality - though the video quality is excellent when played on the PC. Why is this and are there any solutions? Thanks for any insights.
Perhaps, you can change the aspect ratio to have a try. Btw, you also can try winavi to do the conversion. It is doing a good job.
Thanks one & all. I will try the suggestions and let you know how it works out - after which I will close the thread. Ashnak.
Re NTSC to PAL query: Not sure about this one. If I knew what the source was I could investigate further (I thought it was all just AVI)or is there interrogative software for DVD or HD files that can tell me this? I appreciate the response. Thanx Ashnak
Hi again, The avi will be captured in either NTSC or PAL, the difference ould be the green bars, NTSC delivers 525 lines of resolution at 60 half-frames per second and PAL delivers 625 lines at 50 half-frames per second. If you use AVI2DVD it indicates what the source avi is and you can change it if you want (you would only change it if your stand alone DVD player and TV doesn't support the original format). Here in Australia we use PAL and generally our hardware is NTSC compatable but I believe in the States it is pretty much NTSC and little PAL compatable hardware, I will stand corrected on that. M
Thanks Molder, I think I see it now. The information is a great help & I will now close this thread. Ashnak.
