Hi guys, i'm currently working on a movie that I plan to start shooting over the vacation but my budget is kinda high and i'd like to get your expert advice on some alternatives to real life actors and cameras that have been running through my mind. The movie contains scenes of shooting, fighting and chases that I really need the hands-on control for in terms of directing The first is using macromedia flash or some other tool recommended to do something like what Andy Torres did with the stick figures for his Max Payne parody. Instead of using stick figures though, i wanted to use custom drawn people. If I go with this option, how easy would it be to lip-sync and animate the drawings in a life-like fashion? The second is using models from games such as GTA3 as actors and some animation and camera manipultion program to complete the movie. I would guess that this would call for motion capture in some instances but since i'm only 17, I can't afford to embark on such a venture. Therefore, i was wondering how hard it would be to hand-animate these models smoothly and do the appropriate lip-syncing.
If you know how to model 3D characters and animations, then I would suggest Maya 3D, it's easy, but can be expensive.
