Ah, just came back from the theater. Sorry to say, but the biggest waste of time ever. Peter Jackson ovePeter Jackson, the director has a tendency of stretching out movies way longer than they need to be. This was a waste of my three hours and twelve minutes. The movie was predictable and unrealistic. I understand that people need to take movies with a pinch of salt, but way too many special effects. And woah were the headhunters ugly! They had piercings all over the place, they had chopsticks going through their cheeks and up their noses. Everything was too slow and ugly for me. Jackson was trying to copy Godzilla, but didn't realize they were in a different time period. This movie is no comparison to Godzilla or anything like this before, it's not even in the same league. I like special effects as much as the next person but the movie lacked substance and was totally ridiculous. That's the truth, and only the truth.rdid it. Everything was way too long, everything too predictable, even if it is a remake there are some discrepancies. I made an account on IMDB just so I could say this movie sucked.

I've got some free tickets tomorrow for the cinema. After reading your post, and several other friends reviews,I'll skip King Kong and probably check out the new Harry Potter.

I thought it was great, why is every one a critic?

Well, if Kinza wishes to start a thread & give a critique on a film, then that is up to her. Everyone is entitled to their opinion!

How is it going Kinza? Not seen you for ages.

hey guys, long time no read. i was busy with school work, now im on winter break so ill have a ton of extra time. as for the movie, i usually like action movies and sci-fi but this thing was retro, a fusion between suspectible love and chaos. i didn't like it, and as pulsar said, this is just my opinion.

on the other hand, i also saw the new harry potter, great movie, much improvement through out the series. however, if you have read the book you may be a little disappointed as they have left much out of the movie. overall, thumbs up for hp and thumbs down, actually no thumbs for king kong.

that's exactly how i was. the movie was bearable at the beginning but after they went back to the island to search for the girl, i too checked my watch, probably more than 30 times. and then at the end, boo hoo, aww, king kong falls off empire state and dies, sobs, thats what he deserved for wasting my time and money.

lol, the only thing that made me want to finish watching the movie was that i thought Naomi Watts (i think that's how you spell it) was doing a really good job at her part.

hey, Kinza, did u know, King Kong spent 1 1/2 times the money to shot than The Titanic? hard to believe they spent so much money on such a boring remake.

if i knew it was this boring, i would've went to watch Aeon Flux

I, and everyone else I know, that has seen it, [bold]loved[/bold] it!
Jackson stayed pretty true to the original movie, yet added the touches that made it a Peter Jackson movie. The soundtrack was very good, and had excellent special effects. All the actors did their parts very well. Almost anyone, over the age of 15, should be familiar with the story, so yes, it would be predictable to most people. I doubt that very many people went to see it, that didn't know what was gonna happen next. One reason the movie was that long, was because of the character development, that Jackson put in. You felt like you knew the main characters, including Kong.

I, and many others, believe this movie stands a good chance at getting the Oscar this year, for Best Movie! Maybe also for special effects.

I'm sorry you three didn't like it. After reading your take on the movie, I wish you hadn't wasted your three hours also!

this could really have been added to the 'anyone seen any good movies lately' thread. i hear ya when you're saying you were let down by the movie but it could still have gone in that thread. otherwise we'll have loads more ppl doing the same thing, you see :)

I thought there was a bad movie thread, can't remember, but that'd be a good idea (I think). Maybe kinza would rename thread accordingly

I've changed my mind, if you compare HP to KK, HP wins.
