About all you can do to help a person having a seizure is to move anything out of their way they could hurt themselves on. DO NOT place anything in their mouths, swallowing the tongue is an old-wives tale. When the seizure is over you can turn the person on their side to allow any choking hazard to leave their mouth. Try to put something in a seizure victims mouth and you risk losing a finger or creating a choking hazard for them.
