    Hi, I want to instal a new dvd burner drive, but in my pc I have a cd burner drive and a dvdrom.
    I want to know how to set them. should I put the dvdrom in the first ide as slave and in the second ide, should I put the dvd burner drive as master and the cd burner drive as slave?.
    My question is because in the documentation that comes with my dvd burner, it said to put it as slave in the second ide, but I'm not sure because in that ide I will have also a cdr burner drive.
    how should I put them?.
    Thank you

    For faster data transfer, your dvd burner should go on the second IDE cable as MASTER. Your main HD is MASTER on the Primary IDE cable. The other 2 don't matter too much since both will be slave positions.

    I think will put them like this;
    Primary Master - Hard drive
    Primary slave - DVD Rom
    Secondary Master - DVD burner
    Secondary Slave - CDRW burner
    thank you for your help and time.

    just let you know this forum is for dvd recorders, standalone ones (ones that set next to your VCR in your lounge room), not dvd burners.

    Post in the dvd drives forum for stuff like this thanks :)
