I have a question about setting this up. I have router that i pretty much have to use to connect to the internet. Maybe not but dont want to have to go through the trouble of buying and hooking up another one and then it not working. ISP is very picky. But anyway my router has a ethernet port and a USB port on the back and that is it. I can use either one to connect to the internet with my computer will the other one be capable of hooking up to the xbox or not. And also will the xbox hook up to my routher via ethernet or usb? thanks Mitch
you don't have a router, what you have is a dsl or cable modem... well transceiver but that's a whole different argument. plugging the computer and xbox into that at the same time will not really do anything. what you want is a crossover cable. they're cheap enough at radio shack or wherever cable and cable accessories are sold in your area. read this http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/228294 then plug that cable from where your internet comes into your computer to the back of the xbox.
