i have a few files in *.vob format.....i wud like to convert them to *.avi i.e.divx can u let me know the settings for best quality......
There is no "best" settings. It all dependds on what you are encoding. Try a program like Auto GK which lets you encode to xvid or divx and automatically sets it all up for you you have to do very little. Or check out one of these guides ( if you scroll down it shows you examples of divx settings but again it depends on what you are encoding. Widescreen movies (16:9) http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd2divx_anamorphic.cfm Full screen Movies (4:3) http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd2divx.cfm Hope that helps you
Or read our guide: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd2divx_anamorphic.cfm (DVD to AVI - Anarmophic). The only difference between '16:9' and '4:3' is in the settings for VirtualDub's resize filter: 640x360 for 16:9, 640x512 (PAL) or 640x480 (NTSC) for 4:3. The best quality's settings are the best settings for the DivX (XviD) codec, i.e. 'slow' and 'multipass'. Of course, the guide teaches you some tricks as the use of VirtualDub's 'deinterlace' , null transform', and 'Resize'.
