    hi,

I'm not sure if I'm in the right forum? I normally use this for Cable stuff.

I want connect my dreambox to Astra1, Astra2, and Hotbird...

I have an existing Sky mini-dish with a Quad LNB, but I just use 1 line from it into my sky box (I want to keep this)

Could I setup a new 80cm dish with 2x LNB's (1 for Astra1, 1 for HotBird), Add a line from the Quad LNB on the Sky Mini Dish then use a DiSEqC switch to connect all 3 lines into my dreambox?

yep mate you can do that they have 4 way lnb switches, that you can attach 4 lnb to.it can be tricky when installing a second dish on your house(might be better to check out your local council rules on this matter before installing it)other than that you can do what you want to do.check out what satellite magazine(they have info on everything)also try www.wizardsatellite.co.uk they should have all you need, good luck.

You could use a monoblock with 6 degree seperation ready made for astra 1 and hotbird which has one cable out to switch on your 80cm dish available on ebay very cheap. It has a mini diseqc switch inbuilt. So you'd have that going to your Diseqc switch LNB1 port and then a cable from your lnb on sky dish to LNB2 port on switch.

    thanks piopat and mooley...

I think I'll go down the 2 LNB route...

Can I get a 4-way extenal DiSEqC switch so I that I just need 1 cable rather than having the switch inside?

Also would anyone like to recommend a HD + PVR receiver I can use for card sharing?

diseqc switches work fine, i have one set up astra1/astra2(2 outputs so the misses can watch the soaps)/hotbird.

Takes a good bit of tweaking but it works fine.

    cheers

If you want to place another diseqc switch before the monoblock forget it.

not sure about monoblock, mgb17 is right, why not just put everything on one dish 80cm. Astra1/Astra2/Hotbird all have seperate lnbs connecting to a diseqc switch and forget about the monoblock.

    Based in laois.

    cheers
    Fred.

    thanks guys...

I'll not go down the monoblock route, I think the LNB's will be better..

If I was to put everything on 1 80cm dish would there be a holder for 2x singles LNB's and 1 Quad LNB for sky??

I'm based in belfast cathaldub ...
