SHERWOOD RD-8108R

    hi i have the SHERWOOD RD-8108R receiver and the gigaworks g500 speakers they are pc speakers.i have no active sub can i use the g500 sub as a active sub using the pre amp output on the receiver thanks for any help.

    Only if it's a "powered" sub (built-in amp in sub).

    I can't find much about the Sherwood. I'm taking it for granted it's a surround receiver........

    It says it's a 130 W sub, so you can try it.

    There's a reason these are sold as computer speakers, and not home theater speakers. You can probably find a used set of speakers and sub, meant for home theater use, at a good deal. Check Craig's List.
