shorten audio to fit???

    i have a continuous mp3 file, no gaps at all, i'd like to convert it and burn it to fit a cd-r, file is slightly higher then the cd itself, is there a way to make it fit? any freeware?

    Maybe you can re-encode this file using lower bitrate with Lame. It will be shorter in size and will keep full-length file. You can use Cool Edit or Sound Forge if you want to cut it.

    @marcus23......... thanks, Sound Forge worked, took a while to figure it out, but it worked. what i did was remove some unwanted audio out and shortened my file from 856mb to 698mg, fit on the cd perfect, you cant even detect the parts i cut out. thanks again
