    Hi there,
I just purchased a new dell computer and I have a 8x dl( is that good? ) drive. I have downloaded the trial dvdfab premium addition and trial of nero 7. I bought fujifilm dvd+rdl 8.5 gb, 2.4x speed. the movies I cloned turned out great.. my question is should I buy the higher speed (more than 2.4x) or can you buy higher ? what verbatim dvds should I buy. I'm really confused. I also want to say that I just clone the movies to dl disks. I also clone the movies to iso and then use Nero 7 and it copies it to a disk. Is this the right way to play it on all dvd and portable dvds. Thanks

most DL media is capable of burning up to 8x max BUT you want to keep your burn speed at 4x max for the best quality/playback issues

You want the Verbatim DVD+R DL you can get them at supermediastore.com meritline.com or Micro Center.com they look like this

you might consider using a DVD-5 instead of DL media for everything. DL blank media runs about 1.70 to 1.80 per disc and you can get DVD-5 blank DVDs for about 24 cents each. most movies will fit on a DVD-5 with little to no compression especially if you just do the MOVIE ONLY! this is what i do using clonedvd 2 + anydvd

your best bet is to booktype the DVD+R media to DVD-ROM for the best compatible playback on all DVD players or use the DVD-R media, heres a software page and some guides to get you going

remember to use good blank media like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim burning NO faster than 8x for a SL and 4x for a DL on a clean machine without other programs running while burning and update firmware for your drive/burner

Sorry I have just one more question.. I don't know if a movie will fit on a dvd +r dl or a regular dvd +R SL. I'm using dvdfab premium and using the clone button...How do one tell? Also, I have played the movie and they run in my dvd player and my portable dvd player so I don't need to booktype it now right?
