I have a locked Siemens SL56 with Cingular. Also have the data cable. What kind of ordeal do I need to go through in order to get the phone unlocked. It really bothers me that the carriers have the ability to do this. I bought the phone from an independent on line resource - and did not benefit from any plan or package discount. Phone first - then I took it to the carrier. I think it should be illegal for them to lock equipment that is NOT theres... Just my 2 cents worth.
