If my spouse and I are on a FamilyTalk plan with Cingular and one of us has a Motorola V220 and the other has a Samsung X427m, if we wanted to swap phones but keep our same numbers (me take the Samsung, and she could have the Moto), is it as easy as switching the SIM cards from one phone to the other? thanks

Not to my knowledge. The serial number of the phone and SIM card are registered together. So you would have to call customer service to juggle the numbers and they wouldn't like that - most likely, they wouldn't even entertain the idea. you can try though. If they let you do that, it would be cool if you let us know.
