The ads for this thing claim it will copy from anything to anything. Has anyone really tried one of these things? Do they really work?

It depends on what you're going to use it for. If you're going to convert VHS with macrovision to DVD sometimes there's a hack for the DVD recorder that makes the Sima unecessary. For DVD to DVD I wouldn't bother, just use your computer and a good ripper like DVD43 or DVD Decrypter or even better ... use both

Thanks for the info, catfreak. I downloaded and tried out DVD Decrypter, it seems to work fine to get the DVD to my hard drive, now how do I get it back to a blank DVD-R?

Ok, I got it. I had to go and find a guide for this thing. Thanks for the info, catfreak.
