I have sims 2 on cd(s) and when I launch the game it goes to the splash screen then sits there for a few seconds than errors out with the (sims 2 has encountered an error and needs to close). I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it 3 times. I have a memorex dual layer 16x burner (fairly new). It does not work with the daemon tools virtual drive either, it gives the same error. Two other pc's in our house have it and it works fine. I have a fresh copy on win xp pro and latest ati drivers for my 9800xt and my chipset drivers are up to date. I also have direct x 9c. All other games work flawlessly. Please advise.
