it's most probably an advance screening of the movie on dvd.

Most stores and rental places have the movies weeks before they are released. They just aren't allowed to put them out until the release date. Alot of employees try(some successfully and others not so sucessfully) to get an advance copy or two before they hit the shelves.

Thank you for putting my mind at rest.
I was thinking thats what It had to be but was unsure.
I remember when people got in trouble for haveing the harry potter books before release. I did not know they did the same for movies and I guess its the same for cds too Pretty much everything I guess.
I know alot of stuff is out in japan before it comes here.
    well thanks again

The DVD screener for Sin City has been out for a couple months now in the P2P wild...but of course that would be pirating...LOL

No there saying that someone has the proper retail dvd 2 weeks before it comes out, not that they have one off of p2p. I mean you can get nearly any movie off of p2p as soon as, or sometimes before they hit the theatres.

Who knows, but rented Sin City today and it doesn't read or get recognized in my PC DVD Burner. Does in the samsung stand alone player though. Strangely enough it's Buena Vista studios, not Sony, the only other Factory DVD product that won't read or get recognized in my PC DVD Burner [just blank, nothing inside the DVD folder when clicking on it] . Can't burn it if the DVD burner doesn't recognize it to copy. Just me or are others out there not getting Sin City to 'recognize', read or play in their PC DVD player/burners?

i did have a problem when i first put it in the PC with CloneDVD2 reading it ,it was very slow
so i rebooted run a disc cleanup ,spyware program and my virse scan program thought something was wrong with my PC.
tryed the movie again and it worked fine using CloneDVD2 with anydvd (doing the movie only)

After seeing yet another reference to AnyDVD, I decided to download the latest AnyDVD_v5.4.1.1_5 version, find a hacked 'n cracked AnyDVD_v5.4.1.1_5 executable [refuse to pay for software ;- ] and low and behold, it works! Used one of many DVD decrypter/compressor programs and it plays like a charm.

Week ago had all sorts of problems after installing the 'wrong' HP firmware update I was 'led' to by HP who said I was now stuck with it, even though it's not supposed to install if wrong driver uptdate. Absolutely No differentiation on HP download pages between firmware updates for RW and R for its HP DVD writer Well, like always, HP techs gave flawed or bogus info referring to training manuals instead of using creative or critical thinking abilities. So I still managed to install the 'correct' firmware update by not 'rebooting' after removing the wrong driver update installed that they said I was stuck with and unable to install correct one unless using their inane partitioned recovery drive (that doesn't copy entire C drive, but merely installs original factory so you loose dozens of GBs).

DVD Writer even reads/plays 'burned' copies of Movies now - so it's filter drive works very well.. Thx again for response...
