I have an AVI file which I am trying to put on a dvd. The file is 45 mins long and is approx 350mb in size. When I use TMPGEnc to try and put it into DVD format it reckons it will take up the whole disc. Why is this? I am aware that this is probably a really stupid question but as you can tell from my Nickname, I don't have a clue!

    Cheers

It normally converts from say (for instance) 700mb to 4Gb...

And mentioning TMPGEnc is very general as there are different versions that do v.different things ;-)

I use MainConcept MPEG Encoder 1.4 then TMPGEnc DVD Author for .avi/divx/xvid/mpeg1 to .VOB myself
