I have a Toshiba Satellite P25-S609 laptop, using DVD Shrink w/DVD decryptor, have used Nero and DVD cloner II, my laptop has a Matshita DVD-Ram UJ811(according to the properties) it was built in to the laptop when I purchased it. I am using Ritek DVD-R's that I purchased from Newegg, with the purple bottoms. I have a Kenwood Sovereign DVM-5900 DVD changer, and a Panasonic DVD changer. Now that said, I am still having problems with some movies skipping, freezing, etc. usually toward the end of the movies. Please help, I am very confused. COLD MOUNTAIN has ruined about 15 of my DVD-R's. I know I should get RW's just lazy I guess. Can someone give me suggestions.

    THANKS A TON
    BOZ

Well I had the same problem as you,I thought it was the media at first,(I use ritek also)then after much reading I learned you should not not surf the net while compressing or burning, disable all programs, even your virus scan, and remove all spyware.
That is what I had to do.Good Luck!

Try changing the target size of the dvd. Shrink's default is 4464. Open shrink, click edit, then preferences, change to custom and enter 4300. By doing this, you won't burn to the edge of the disc.

Also have you tried updating your aspi layer?

Almost forgot, I have changed the target size to custom 4360 and tried 4300, no luck. I just burned another movie and only burned the movie, still no luck. The media I bought from newegg was supposed to be Ritek, but there is no logo branded on the DVD-R's, except in the inner circle, it is stamped Ridata, same thing i suppose.

    The Latest steps
    DVD Shrink
    DVD Decryptor

Use DVD Shrink to download the DVD to my computer and then automatically opens DVD Decryptor to burn DVD (ISO write). I have set the prefrences to each based on what I have read from previous post. IF you need more detail, I can do my best to give it.

    Thanks FLIP a ton.

I used the sites you listed to update my ASPI layer.

    jabosler,

Well everything looks good. Some things you can check: Run aspicheck and make sure all dll's read v4.71.2, make sure your ide settings are set to DMA, and when using Decrypter ... make sure "verify" is [bold]unchecked[/bold].

Is your burner's firmware up to date?
