sky by broadband

    Hi does anyone know if it is possible to save a downloaded film from sky onto a dvd? Jim

    You need a macrovision remover (small box with 2 scart connections). See ebay....

    Not really. As DVD43 is a PC based program, Sky programs (unless you have a fancy Sky PC card) cannot be read by a PC.

    Some Sky programmes are encrypted with macrovision which either stops you recording (VCR mainly) or makes the screen flash and fade on a DVD.

    So to make a personal backup of a part of a Sky programme for educational purposes etc, you need a macrovision remover which sits in line between the sky box and the VCR/DVD recorder. Note you have to watch the programme being recorded, it does not happen in the background. I have one it works a treat.
