I have 4 sky boxs connected up around the house in various rooms,3 ordinary sky boxs and one hd box. but i am only paying for one card which is in the living room. Im using the other boxs for free to air channels. Is there away i can set up this card sharing in the house for the other 3 boxs to recieve all channels. I'm reading about this card sharing and it says that a fellow pays for the sky subscription and u pay him to recieve the channels by connecting it up to the internet. Can i do this myself at home to recieve all channels on all boxs via one card? I also have a starview 4 box there going to waste, can i set up something with the equipment i have or do i need the dreambox to do this.

The simple answer is no. Not with your current config. You canot share between Sky boxes. You would need to replace all of the boxes with dreambox or equivalent and then program each box to allow sharing of the one card between these boxes. Its up to you if you wish to invest the time and money to do this. The link Mickah points to will supply you with much of the technical information you need should you wish to go the dreambox route

answer is no. you can only receive hd channels if you have a hd subscription. i also have the dm800hd with a sly hd subscription. quality is good since i installed an in-line amplifier, before it was somewhat glitchy
