Hi guys..Just a quick question.. I have installed 2 8800 GTS Graphics cards. Now I have watched videos on YouTube on this to get a bit of an idea of what im doing and ive also consulted my user manuals for my mobo and my cards. In my Mobo manual it states; (After cards are in place and SLI bridge is on) Connect a 4-pin ATX power cable to the EZ Plug Labeled EZ_Plug on your Motherboard. The diagram shows a ATX12v Plug socket on the mobo, a EZ Plug socket on the mobo and the EATXPWR 24 pin plug socket on the mobo Now this has confused me What am I plugging into where? lol On the Youtube Videos it doesnt show anybody plugging in any plugs onto the mobo. however it does state in my mobo manual: Make sure you connect a 4 pin power cable to the EZ plug; otherwise your system will become unstable. and since instering the second card my system has done exactly that. When I power up the pc it shows me a screen where it says CMOS Wrong and I hit the F2 button and it loads default settings then blue screens out, restarts and starts up fine. Same everytime I power up. Also now my Date and time settings always reset after restarting the system. Always 1st January 2002 Lastly Once your 2 graphics cards are working ok and you boot your system up. Whats the score with the graphics cards drivers? I mean I have left mine as they were.. not uninstalled anything or reinstalled I just went to the NVIDIA Control panel and switched over to SLI Mode. Should I have uninstalled my GFX Card drivers and reinstalled them? and Do you only install one set of drivers or both disks for each card? Thanks for your help and I appologise for the amount I have had to write down Thanks Cobe
You don't need to uninstall the drivers, but it's imperative you connect the power to your motherboard. Which motherboard do you have?
