i have an R4DS and it works great. however, i'd like to be able to play GBA games and perhaps just be able to carry more games around at once all in the one nintendo package and not worry about separate memory cards or whatever to lose. can i purchase an M3 Lite Perfect, keep it in the Slot-2 (with another MicroSD card in it) and use the 'goto slot2' function of the r4ds to boot it up? also, can i drag and drop games to the m3 lite perfect as i do to the r4ds (gba or nds or both) or do i have to use some sort of program thanks
The M3 Lite will work, and you can use the R4 to boot it into DS mode and then the start button in the M3 menu to go to GBA mode. You will need an additional MicroSD card for your M3 to store the games on, and to put games on the M3 from your computer you will need to either use the M3 GameManager, or manually add a save file for each game you add to the card (by getting a blank save and renaming it to match the GBA game). Another (cheaper) option you may want to look into is the EZFlash 3-1, this will allow you to store the GBA games on your R4 and then using a loader (such as Rudolphs 3-1 loader or NDStation) you can load a GBA game onto your EZFlash to play, with this option you also get the added options of rumble for any DS roms that support it.
