Hey, I run a small time underground label and I'm heavily considering buying a CD Duplicator that'll press the CD and print the artwork on it as well to save me costs in the long run. However, I know for a fact that one of the future albums I will be releasing will infact have a "secret track" that will come before the first song - you will have to rewind to get to it basically. Now, my question is this: will a CD Duplicator write this secret track to the CD or not? I don't want to make this huge investment and then not be able to use it - so yes, I was wondering if a CD duplicator (a very new one - I don't know if that makes a difference or not) will in fact be able to put the secret track on the CD or not. im no expert in hidden tracks and what not but when ever I came across a "secret track" it was at the end of the tape or cd and was never mentioned on the playlist.
yes I don't quite get that...how could you have a secret track before track 1 that you have to "rewind" the CD to find when it first plays...that doesn't sound possible to me

I wasn't sure myself how this works, but as I understand all CDs are put into the CD player and they are begun to be read at 0:00:00 or whatever. It is possible, as I've seen it done on another record before, to actually put track information that is before that 0:00:00 spot - so that the CD player will not begin to read at that point, and you infact have to rewind the CD in the CD player to be able to access the hidden track. Oh, and by underground I just mean we're not big time.
I'd have to see some sort of proof on how its done to beleive it. Do you know what methods were used when burning the CD with secret tracks at the beginning? Was it a computer-burned CD, or a actual machine-pressed one?
Well, the master is being made right now for the CD that I'm talking about - I know that it can be done with replication fairly easily but I don't know about duplication, so that's what I'm asking about.
