when i am encoding a file to vcd it then cannot fit on the cd, is there anyway i can change this file to make it smaller. It is the movie Saw and without encoding it, it's 640mb in a mpeg file. How can i make it smaller so i can fit it on a 700mb cd? I use nero burning rom (newest version) to burn it onto the cd.

at the current size it should fit but try editing out the end credits and see if that works

Sorry none of that is working for you I can tell you me personally I rarely make vcd's anymore but when I did I used cucusoft avi to vcd which can handle alot of different file types and will split the file for you so it can fit on two cd-r that is about all I can tell you no other wary to make it fit, what program are you using to burn it to vcd and is the original file avi or mpeg1 or 2 all of this matters as it would have to be transcoded to mpeg1 to make a vcd
