    Hi,

I would like to rename some m2v files to mpg files (so that I can use Windows Media Player). I am using DOS (command prompt) to rename the files, but I think it's a bit complicated. Is it possible to rename the files quick and easy without using DOS to do it?

When you use Premiere Pro and export the project to a Mpeg file, the file becomes a m2v file if there is no sound in the project. And I can't use m2v files in Windows Media Player. Therefore I have to rename the m2v file to mpg.

Easiest way to rename in windows is to right-click on the file and move down to the option that says rename.

Type in your new file name and press enter.

Make sure show file extensions is turned on in your folder options and you can then change the .m2v to .mpg

Do this here if your not sure :
    My computer > dbl click
    Tools > folder options
    View
remove tick from box that says hide extension of known file types

    Hope it helps.
