    Hello,

I use a Gateway laptop with a TDK-880n external reader/writer. The programs that I use with it are Shrink and Nero(new versions). I tried to download SmartRipper and this is what I get:

    ASPI is Deactived
    Some files are still locked!
Try to unlock with a player

    UNLOCK DRIVE:

ASPI-Adapter available try to unlock Drive...
No ASPI access to this drive
    Switch to winIO.

Can anyone let me know what's up with this. Thanks!!

Most DVD players have the option to have the player start when you insert a DVD movie. You likely have this option turned off. Smartripper needs to have the player open the DVD/file befoe it can begin, so you will have to launch the player manually to open the DVD for Smartripper. It will then read the files.
