For the past 2 weeks I have been working on getting my video codecs up to par. I have never had any problems and I forget how all this has originated but I can't play any of my movies anymore. Some play on Windows Media Player 10 and some don't, while some play on Quicktime and others don't, and then others play on the DIVX player while the others don't!

Excuse my language but something is all fucked up!I forget what caused the problems in the first place but now I am at the point I just want it fixed. I have been doing alot of research and have been looking at all the forums for help and I dont know where to start. I have tried some codec packs. I have tried deleting then reinstalling codecs. I have tried deleting all codecs, all players, and reinstall everything. I have tried deleting everything again and tried to use Gspot and AVIcodec to find the proper codecs for the movies and to no avail I have each file able to play on a different player but not all files able to play on all players!!!

I have videos that I compressed in Adobe Premiere and I can't watch them. I have my personal movies I have taken of my video camera to do video editing that work on quicktime but not on WMP or DIVX. All my PORN is working just the same. There are so many codecs out there I am in a major SNAFU! PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!

    toobs,
I would suggest you uninstall all your video codecs and download this programme called Crap Cleaner and run it to clean up your register files using the link provide below:-
    http://www.ccleaner.com/update/?v=1.24.180&l=1033
All you need to do is to download and install AVI Codec and ffdshow (latest ver) from AD forum and reboot your pc.
Then try to play your movie files again with your media player 10.
I think it should be fine and a word of advice no mulit-tasking while playing your movie file.

LMAO no multitasking then why did I buy the dual monitor setup! That was a waste of money! LMFAO!

Thanks will try it later when I get some time. I will repost when I get results.

Someone actually sent me a player that works with all my files but I prefer my WMP 10. The name of the player is VLC... ever hear of it. It seems to be only downloadable in other contries. I was a little skeptical thinking it was a virus but it was safe and clean and it works! But I am still going to follow your directions and give it a whirl. Thanks again!
