So with Sony Pictures Entertainment, MGM, Disney, 20th Century Fox, Warner Bros. Pictures, New Line Cinema and LionsGate, all switching to Blu-Ray they now have over 70% of the market share in home video.

Looks like HD is done for.. especially since Paramount said they will reserve the right to switch their backing for HD at any time. Looks like their just waiting to see how much more profit BD will make and then jumping on the bandwagon as soon as figures look good.

Well seemed natural, both formats are the same but in the end why take a chance and back the one with less space?

Blu-ray has won. I'm having trouble understanding why you said "...both formats are the same...". The formats were never the same. The look may have been similar but the security embedded as well as the size of the disc space were always different.
