I apologize if this is in a guide somewhere, but I'm not really sure how to ask the question. I've got the process of backing up a DVD down to the point where I've mounted and .iso, and I have a virtual drive running with two folders - AUDIO.TS and VIDEO.TS - inside it. What I am stuck on is how to use Nero (or some other program) to get this back on a DVD+R that will run on a standard standalone DVD player. Nero wants files, and I have folders, if that makes any sense. I'm sure the answer is somewhere in the Nero burning suite, but I have been unable to find it, so I turn you you folks. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated and again, since I'm sure this has been asked better somewhere else before, I'm sorry for the new thread about an old topic.
Oh... wait. What if, since the info about the menus and titles are already in the files located in the folders, if I just use Nero to burn what's in the VIDEO.TS folder? I won't need to make menus or any of that stuff. Wild guess, and in this situation I'm wondering what the purpose of the AUDIO.TS folder is, but I'll give that a try and report back.
Don't worry the AUDIO_TS folder is supposed to be empty. Here's a guide that may help you out, altough I'm not sure which version of Nero you're running. http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/burning_dvd_with_nero.cfm
Nero 7 Ultra Edition. Thanks for the guide, that's what I'm up to next. Well, this worked fine as far as getting the DVD player to load it. The issue now is that the menus don't work. I get the lovely opening graphics and background production values, but the movie is unplayable due the the inability to activate the play button. Got to figure this one out now. As always, any help would be fantastic.
Rip it again "full DVD"? I thought I ripped it last time full DVD. Is there an actual selection in Nero for "full DVD"? I am using the Nero Vision 4 program to actually do the burning, by the way. Thank you for the help.
ok sorry i just jumped in here but you can burn a good .ISO with imgburn a free app i say rip it again as you said menus were curupt/not working shop bought dvd's have copy protection and need "RIPPING" out this protection then apps like nero or whatever can be used... some titles need bits sorted to work ok, what is the dvd title in question? ------------- i would also booktypwe your dvd+R to dvd-rom if your drive allows it (more like original dvd) for better compatibilty on standalone dvd playerss (not pc)
FIXED... Using Nero Burning ROM (as shown in the guide) worked perfectly, faster, and without a hitch. THANK YOU! To all who offered help. I really appreciate it, and you can probably look for my next sub-novice question here soon.
