Well i think the topic title says it all... I'm mainly working with Knoppix (linux based, live cd) and windows when i really have to.. Looking into debian and other types of linux based systems, but this will do for now
...Meaning that if you want to run a windows based server (which in my opinion seems like a sh*tty idea) win2003 server is the software for you.
Thx for all the info Daniel_G really appreciated your help, Wow i learn something new everyday here at AD
@ P4_tt: Thank god for that, i was starting to think i was the only *nix nerd here @ glitched : All the info? lol Anyone with half a brain and access to google could have looked that up (which is what i did)
Well am feed up of windows and had a look at some of the live Linux Cd's out there, am not too good with it but am learning
@ p4_tt : I'd advise you to check out www.knoppix.org or www.debian.org, those are the best 2 linux distri's with live cd's If you are looking for some books on basic unix, pm me, i might have something usefull for you
Windows XP Home SP2...been wanting to try linux, but between only having one rig to play on right now, dial-up access only, and a few other restrictions, i haven't been able to.
lol i guess i was too lazy to search , thx, if this wasnt just a tech fourm i know people would ask many wierd question about school stuff like science and stufff like that
You're in the US right Auslander? then why not just buy a linux "live" distri cd after some advise on what to get? most pc shops that sell those have at least one *nix nerd working there who can help you on what to get
i could, but that would require spending money...and considering i can barely make my car payment, with a nice amount of other expenses i have to cover and the fact that i have no job after next week (hunting for a new one now), lol i can't buy much at all. the local pc shop carries nothing, and i don't feel like driving 45 minutes to the nearest big town at the moment. possibly in the future when things are a bit more stable, though
