so, i modded my Xbox quite some time ago. i originally had a mod chip but it began to stop working from time to time.

i decided to soft mod my xbox (i don't remember exactly how, but i'm pretty sure i soft modded via my hard mod[chip].) so that i wouldn't have to deal with the broken chip anymore.

unfortunately, i also removed my 120g hard drive to use on my computer. now that i want to start using my xbox again, and backing up games to my hard drive, there's no space on my stock hard-drive.

anyways, i was wondering if it is even possible to put a bigger hard drive back into my xbox given i don't own any of the exploitable games. it's been quite a while since i've messed with this stuff, and i can't find any good solid information..

would this method work for me? http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/203286 note: i'm not using a linux softmod as far as i know

or would this method work for me?

You'll probably need to mod the Xbox either way, but if you click on my tutorials they should answer all your questions!

    1. softmod the Xbox
    2. install a hacked dash like EvoX or UnleashX
    3. Use an auto installer like Slayer 2.7 that has the "backup EEPROM" option and back up your EEPROM file to a folder you will remember
    4. now set up an FTP connection between the PC and Xbox and FTP the COPY of the EEPROM file you made to the PC and store it there.
    5. build your new hard drive

    6. reinstall softmod on new hard drive and also reinstall all programs.

    more tutorials if needed
