SOFTMODDING w/ A MEMORY CARD AND NOT AR isnt working, any help?

Okay so I have a modded xbox already and decided to softmod my friends...and I tried the splinter cell hack exactly how tutorials have been telling me but it isn't working. I tried copying the files to the memory card off my modded box as well as straight FTPing to the device and in the end all I get is a black screen that doesn't boot linux or the technical error screen. Is there no way to do it with a normal memory card because I don't want to go and find an Action Replay.

it should work fine with a normal memory card, I used one with no problem

 

If he has any XBL download content for SC on his Xbox, you might have to remove them before you can run the exploit save. This happens with MechAssault, so it probably happens with SC as well.
