Would anyone know where or if there is software for changing VOB into MPEG and then back to VOB? I have about 7 seconds of a movie that I have to edit, but only want to remove the 7 seconds and nothing else. Can't find anything that will just take that and not the whole scene, I have know way of doing it over again or replacing it. I want to cut out the seven seconds and splice it back together. I have found software that does MPEG but not VOB which is what I need.............. Thank You
hi there... what about using VOBEdit? have you tried that? It'll convert your VOB's onto separate mpa & mpv files (srt IIRC too) and then you can use other program to get it back to VOB after modifications have been done...
I am using WINDOWS XP, can't use VOBedit..... RebooJim, can I change it to MPEG and then delete the 10 seconds and change it back to VOB file to put back in place. VideoRedo works good with taking out the bad part, but need something to make it VOB again.
The "making of .vobs" is known as Authoring. ReJig, Tmpgenc DVD Author, DVDLab, etc., etc., etc. I say again (with more detail) you cannot directly edit a .vob Because a .vob can only be .99 gig, one vob does not a movie make. Extracting the mpeg, editing, then remaking it into a .vob won't work. It screws up the whole dvd structure. I would extract the whole movie in ReJig. Edit in Cuttermaran, then reauthor the whole thing.
Thanks RebootJim...... Would I extract as file or IFO? Backup I guess would just put it to VOB. Then from there do the whole movie over as MPEG in Cuttermaran?
Extract in rejig, file mode. It will join the .vobs and produce elementary stream video and audio. (.m2v and .ac3 or .mp2) These two files, when muxed, make up an mpg. Cuttermaran will work nicely to edit (cut bit's out) of that. Load the .m2v and cuttermaran will automatically load the audio. In Cuttermaran, you select the parts you want to KEEP, and "add to cutlist". When you're done editing, click "cut video/audio". There will be a popup window, prompting you for a location to save, and a couple of other options. Just put a tick in the "remux" box, and Cuttermaran will make an mpg for you (join the audio and video). If you're going to reauthor it, don't mux. Let cuttermaran output elementary streams, then you can load them into rejig, and it will create the .vob's all over again (but no menus!) If you want menus, you'll have to get into more advanced authoring tools.
Not working RootJim............. when I use Rejig FILE mode it does nothing and the files are vob. I open and add the disk video_TS then Re-Commpress the job and always says failed. Cuttermaran wont even open up...have latest version of Net Frame also and installs but wont run. Going to try Yasa ripper and VideoReDo to see if thay wil work for me. I also think ReJig support is done, getting Domain for sale on there HomePage.
Open ReJig. Click File Mode. Click Add. Click on the vob that ends in 1_1.vob It will load the rest. Click on the video in the right hand pane. Click Demux. Put a tick in "fix ac3 audio delay". Click on the audio in the right hand pane. Click Demux. You now have elementary streams. Load the m2v into cuttermaran, it will load the audio automatically.
Once again RebootJim I have to say thank you. The only problem I get is Cuttermaran's control panel is to big for the screen................. I cant get to the buttons and can't enlarge the box with my cursor. Well shrink the box because it takes up the whole screen
You need more desktop space. Cuttermaran, is 1024x768. I didn't think anyone was using less than that nowadays.
