My Sony DVDRW D56A for some reason burns CDRs, but not DVDRs. My friend told me I should change my media brand, so I switched from Memorex to TDK DVDRs, yet... the problem still persists. This is where in the log file the problems start happening: From Nero soft: :36:52 AM #12 Phase 24 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1832 Caching of files started 9:36:53 AM #13 Text 0 File Burncd.cpp, Line 4114 Cache writing successful. 9:36:53 AM #14 Phase 25 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1832 Caching of files completed 9:36:53 AM #15 Phase 36 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1832 Burn process started at 2.4x (3,324 KB/s) 9:36:53 AM #16 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 2643 Verifying disc position of item 0 (relocatable, disc pos, no patch infos, orig at #0): write at #0 9:36:53 AM #17 Text 0 File Cdrdrv.cpp, Line 8821 ---- DVD Structure: Physical Format Information (00h) ---- Layer: 0, Address: 0 (0 h), AGID: 0; Length: 2050 Book Type: DVD+R (10), Part Version: 1 Disc Size: 120 mm, Maximum Rate: <not specified> (F h) Number of Layers: 1, Track Path: Parallel Track Path (PTP), Layer Type: recordable Linear Density: 0,267 um/bit, Track Density: 0,74 um/track Starting Physical Sector Number of Data Area: 30000 h (DVD-ROM, DVD-R/-RW, DVD+R/+RW) End Physical Sector Number of Data Area: 26053F h End Sector Number in Layer 0: 0 h (LBN: FFFD0000 h, 4193920 MB) Data in Burst Cutting Area (BCA) does not exist Disc Application Code: 0 / 0 h Extended Information indicators: 7 h Disc Manufacturer ID: TDK..... Anybody have any ideas? I haven't upgraded the firmware, but I hear that the PSD6 verison firmware is really shotty for this optical drive.
are you sure this is a dvd burner, and if it is,are you sure it can write dvd+r,????? open dvd decrypter,....tools>drive>capabilities
It would be a bit easier if you included the entire log file. Problems often start a lot farther back than the one you posted. There is also a lot of system information, program settings etc that is helpful.
i've got your backs lol Nero logfile is in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log. Only post last section, it's 'sectioned' via these lines - '====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======' DO NOT post your serial number, it's a line or 2 beneath that header line, usually beginning with '1A21' or similar...
hello! i have SONY DW-D56A, but i have firmware from DELL PSD 7 and i have the same problem but i have another DVD's. My log is: I tested my driver by DVD Decoder and results is here: i tride to change to firmware SONY (this newest) but flasher show me error. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
@colir - your burner's firmware appears to be up to date - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1965 Even though your logfile is incomplete, i'd suspect that media, can't say i've ever heard of Plasmon media
@creaky Your suspicions about the media are probably correct, here is a quick google and one answer on Plasmon1 media http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=79451 Also http://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia.php?dvdmediadvdridsearch=PLASMON.001 Not good reviews.
The only odd thing I see is that it only took two seconds after the start of the burn to come up with that unspecified target error usually bad media will at least get through the lead in... This media is so bad that Nero could not even start the OPC. Nero did manage to: 13:01:29 #23 Phase 127 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1832 Generating DVD high compatibility borders 13:01:29 #24 Phase 129 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1832 Generating DVD borders completed successfully Thus insuring that this disc will never be written to again. Nero could probabbly stop the write process if it knows that an error has occured. But no, it has to turn it into a coaster!
@arniebear - good one @herbsman - cool, about coaster being clickable. shame it doesn't pop up a big wavy hand saying 'hope you're not using crap media'
this dvd's is production for world mark - vobis. this disc is very cheap - in poland 0,99 PLN this is 0.2934$ or 0.2409 €. but i don't thinkin' that there is discs problem. maybe this is firmware, but i have newest DELL firmware for SONY burner. i will try burn on better discs (maybe TDK or sth better). so who help me???
