I was thinking about getting an R4 for my DS from modchipstore.com so i can play my japanese game backups with english patches, but before I make a purchase I want to know about how legal this is in the U.S. Can someone tell me if this is legal (playing backups of games I own with an R4)?

there. im not sure if this is right, somebody correct me if im wrong, but stuff like m3 simply and r4 are legal because of its purposes like movie watching and music stuff. but most people use it illegally, like the link said. so its not like youll be arrested for it or anything.

it IS legal because of the movies and music things, you CAN put roms and shiz on there as long as you LEGALLY OWN the original...but most people just download roms they dont own and put them on there lol but if you do that, we wont tell ;D

So as long as I don't use it to pirate games I don't own, it's legal? Sweet.

exactly, now i'm not telling you to pirate games or that i do...but...if you were going to, you could get them off of any rom site by going to google and searching for "NDS Roms" but that's if you were going to pirate games...which your not...lol
