Well i will start out with the basic problems 1-3: 1. I finally got everything (built from scratch up) into my new case and working. I formatted/partitioned my new hd, and now i have it working properly. Well i had some stuff on my old hd that i needed so i connected it(temporarily) to my new computer and loaded it fine. So i copy and paste everything i need into my new hd, ready and set, and then i notice something: some of the icon pictures for my desktop didn't show. I dont know what to do to make them work/show up. 2. On top of that, i thought when i copied over all my apps, the primary reason for transferring over all my stuff, and restarted my computer, it would load them or install them into their usual places(ie. i had FlashGet and the Google toolbar beta on the toolbar for Internet Explorer, and now it isnt there). Maybe that was some stupid thinking on my part, but what am i supposed to do? Install each and every one of them??? 3. And this ones really annoys me; whenever i use IE, [bold]the scroll goes so freaking slow!![/bold] . This is the first time this has happened. I dont know why it scrolls so slow.... You can see it trying to scroll, but it just goes way to slow. I hope to get some help, or even acknowledgement... Thanks in advanced.
You can't just copy over your old applications from another HD, you need to reinstall them ALL. As for slow scrolling, sounds like you didn't install all the drivers for your GPU/videocard.
when a program gets installed, it is usually spread all over the place on your hd besides windows registry. can't expect the program to work or work properly when you copy & paste the program from old hd to new hd. re-install them all
Damn. I guess that was just some hopeful wishing. I just think i have to many programs to reinstall all over again..... Im thinking of just making my old hd as the master. But how would i make a sata a slave drive and my IDE the master? Since my SATA is already a master drive. Also, i have installed XP Pro on the SATA Drive, and i already had XP Home Edition on my IDE Drive, If that helps at all.
Oh. Are you sure thats all i do? Because i thought i had to change the cables, or something to that effect, so it read it as the master/slave.
