check the PROPERTIES of each music file. Make sure it's properly stated in the SUMMARY area. If it isn't then change all the needed info and Nero will add it as it's stated in it's info on the SUMMARY area in PROPERTIES.

If you don't know how to get to PROPERTIES..... just highlight and right click the music file and go to PROPERTIES.... then hit SUMMARY.... Then you can add/change the info you want to see listed in Nero.

thanks for the info. i've checked: all the song title info is stated in the summary area.

    one field missing:

    international standard recoding code

    one filed is unchecked:

    protection

check out all the things you can change on this mp3 file. This is what info Nero will look for..... if it appears here correctly then it should show up in Nero correctly.

thanks for the visual. i'm using an OEM version. does this impact things?
i added an album then right-clicked on one of the songs in the "added" box, then clicked properties:

a box pops up that is labelled:

    audio track properties.

the tabs present in this box are:

    track properties
    indexes, limits, split
    filter

under the first, track properties, the following information is listed:

    (properties)

title (cd text): [the title is listed]
artist (cd text): [the artist is listed]
    pause: 2 seconds
    international standard recording code: [blank]
    protection: [blank]

    ---------------------------

i don't see anything that resembles the box you've posted.
are we using different versions perhaps?
    thanks again for your help/time.

no....... don't do that in Nero...... go to the file itself .... out of nero... where it's located on your hard drive! Right click the file (on the hard drive!) hit PROPERTIES/SUMMARY tab .... then hit ADVANCED button and you should see the same thing that I have. Do the changes (if necessary) there. Then add to Nero! See if this helps.

i found the summary field you mentioned. unlike the example you posted, mine the sumarries i checked were either empty or had just the song title, nothing else. as an aside: any reason why these summaries aren't carrying over all the info from the downloaded songs in the first place? should they be?

    ok, so i manually entered:

    the complete song title/artist info
    clicked apply
    then burnt.
after the successful burn i viewed the files on the cd and they were all simply numbered tracks.

so far i have been creating a "audio cd'. but i noticed there're also other options: mp3 / wmv / etc.

if the files are in mp3 format should i be burning as mp3? do you think this might account for why the titles aren't saving?

who knew this would turn into such a saga... anyhow, thanks again for all your tips and hope you have some more ideas.

how are you viewing your cd? first you said that Nero wasn't showing all the information of each song..... so I told you to make sure that the properties are correctly filled so Nero can show them properly. Now you're talking about a different matter altogether..... using a program or player and it's only showing the songs as TRACK 1, TRACK 2,etc. I think there is a box to check off in Nero so it will write that information onto the CD itself so players/programs can see what title and artists are listed in the tracks.

do you have a player that plays MP3 CDs? if not just make sure that Nero burns the CDs that can play in ALL players!

    apologies. i was not clear.

when i add files in nero express, i can view everything perfectly.
i can select which songs i want and view the titles/artist names etc.

so, NERO shows all the info. for each song.

my problem is none of that information shows up on the burnt disk.
the burnt disk simply has all the tacks numerically titled.

this is all i'm trying to figure out: is there a way to have song title info transferred through NERO onto the burnt disk?

thanks and sorry for the confusion!

the text information is there..... it's the program or the player not displaying it! I have this, too. but my car's CD player shows the text just fine. As I said before..... it's the player or the program that is not displaying the text!

I am buring a CD-RW now...... and I'm testing it out .... see if there is still a problem with the texts being shown on Windows Media Player and Real Player. Will let you know the outcome.
