songs on dvd

hi, can you rip a cd and but it on to a dvd.
i will like to put alot of songs (500 to 800)
on one dvd to play on my mp3 player.

and what software i need (free software i hope)

Xilisoft CD Ripper is also available. But the trial version only allows you to rip the first 5 song each time.
