There seems to be a lot of information or misinfirmation on the net regarding third party camcorder batteries not working in Sony camcorders. Is this true or just urban myth. Has anyone got a third party Li-ion battery to work in a Sony Camcorder. I have the Sony DCR-HC44E which comes with the Sony NP-FP50 battery. I am thinking of getting the "Hitech RBATSonNPFP90 2200mAh NoMEM Lithium-Ion Camcorder Battery(Replaces Sony NP-FP90)" from Newegg but am unsure if it will work in my camcorder.
Hi Trom, I recently purchased a third party NP-FP90 battery for my Sony camcorder from Battery Centre and it's working fine. I also got a charger from the same company. I checked around and found them to be the cheapest supplier and very good delivery service. Regards, Keith.
