I'm having a problem reading sony DVD-R media after successful write. After DVD burner finished I eject the DVD-R from the tray and load it back on, the burner will not recongnize the medium. Morever, when I try to explore the drive the windows says "Please Insert a medium". DVD Dectyptor comes up with a message "Incompatible Medium". However, the DVD-R will play on my Stand alone JVC DVD player! Can anyone help?

    Confuguration:
    Sony DRU 530A
    Sony DVD-R (from 2002)
    Firmare 2.0A
    DVD Shrink (latest)
    DVD Decryptor (latest)
    Nero (latest)

    i've had this problem too!
i've found at least with me that if after i burn (a direct burn from my dvd - if i burn an image from alcohol or dycrypter i dont get this) if i restart the computer the media reads just fine! its makes absolutely no sense to be but it seems to work and the burns will play on most anything.

Well it seems like for me it was the Sony media! I tried using memorex 4X DVD-R and works fine! I can't believe that sony media would not work correctly with sony DVD burner. What's more, sony dvd-r blank would even be recongnized by a genetic dvd burner. I think it's safe to say that Sony DVD-R media from year 2002 is crap. Even sony tech support told me not to use sony media!
