Sony Dru-540a Dvd burner

    I am having a problem with my. I had installed a pci adapter so I can add on my third hdd. When I turned on my computer all of sudden my drive was showing on my computer but as a cdr drive. Then it changed into a dvdrw but once I input a dvd in it changed right back to a cdr drive. I had tried to update the drivers again and even uninstalled it.Also I just made sure it wasn't anything loose insideand everything is good. Does anyone have an idea what is going on? Thanks in advance.

    Lite cdrw drive
    Sony Dvdrw drive
    Kingston 1 gb memory
    Ati Radeon X850
