I purchased this drive at least 6 months ago. I could not get it to burn and gave up on it until a few days ago when I got a link to a guide on this site and used it to succesfully burn a movie. However, the movie will not play in my stand alone or PS2. I was wondering if I purchased a low quality drive or something. All help is appreicated as I am really new to this.

What program are you using to rip and burn?

What brand and manufacturer and format disc are you using?

What speed are you burning your disc at?

If you're using +R discs, are you booktyping?

And, does the disc at least play in the drive that created it?

I have used quite a few combinations of Shrink, Decrypter and Nero. None of which have worked for me on a particular DVD. The one I succesfully burned will play on a buddies DVD player so it was my DVD player that wouldn't play it but I keep getting errors on the next one I tried to burn. It keeps failing.

    Sony DVD+R's. What is booktyping?

I have tried 8x and 4x. My burner will only do 4x, 6x and 8x.

As I said above the one I first referenced to does work in compatiable DVD players but the newest one I have been trying brings back failed errors at any speed and with a few different ways of going about burning.
